Airbus has announced that it has rolled out the first aircraft produced under the A350F program, marking a significant milestone in the production process despite the engines not yet being installed. The company stated that following delays largely caused by Spirit AeroSystems, the supply chain is showing partial recovery, noting that assembly of the MSN700 test aircraft began in August after the fuselage sections arrived in Toulouse.
The initial delivery target for the A350F was set for 2025, but the program timeline has since been pushed back. As of October, the model had 74 firm orders, with the total increasing further after Air China Cargo recently announced six additional orders. Airbus emphasized that despite setbacks, the program is progressing steadily.
The next-generation A350F, with a payload capacity exceeding 110 tons and a range of 8,700 kilometers, is expected to play a key role in the long-haul cargo market. The aircraft is planned to enter commercial service in 2027, offering a competitive alternative to the Boeing 777F and the upcoming 777-8F. Airbus also noted that the first prototype will be showcased with a special livery resembling a cargo box.
